Has anyone used a twin bed connector to make a king bed? Was it comfortable?

I would like to have a king-sized bed, but it won't fit up the stairs. I have seen connectors that link twin mattresses together and supposedly smooth out the gap in between them so you can't feel it - two brands are King Maker and Create-A-King. If you've tried one of these, was it a good solution? Could you really not feel the mattress edges and space down the middle?

  1. It works! Just be sure to place a king size foam mattress topper on top and you'll be fine. I believe you will need california king sized sheets also.
  2. It should be fine, but i thought that most bed bases these days are in two sections, meaning there's no reason why it shouldn't fit up the stairs.
  3. It should be fine. Just make sure you tie the beds together in some fashion, so they're not shifting and someone ends up falling between! It's actually a better idea when you think about it--a KING bed has limited utility, but two twins are useful if circumstances change, or you need two beds down the line for whatever reason.
